I'm super bad at this

But I got a tumblr or whatever, and it's kinda like facebook and twitter and blogger all wrapped up in one. So that's amusing.

In other news

-My birthday is tomorrow.
My best friend is driving up from Hickory to take me to dinner, which is probably going to be absolutely phenomenal. We also plan to go to the batting cage at Fun Depot for some stress relief. Yay!

-I'm completely smitten with both Beirut and Grizzly Bear (bands)
Here are some videos to show my appreciation (Both from LaBlogoTheQue):

-I am awake far too early.

-Jesus gave the pharisees an atomic elbow in my scripture reading this morning and I loved every second of it, but I hate when I'm one of them.

-I read one of my friend's blogs today. She found a list of "Ideal Characteristics for my Dream Woman" written by one of her friends. It was really well written, so I included a few of my favorites:

"She is a woman of God; an embodiment of all that is feminine and beautiful.
She can appreciate any type of music for what it does for the soul. She sings in shower, in the car, and anywhere else not caring who is listening. She is driven and burdened to do good, conquer kingdoms, administer justice, obtain promises; to be a light shining in the darkness and a voice of change—a peacemaker. She will change the world, turning it upside down of which it is not worthy of her. She is overflowing with the fruit of the Spirit and her passion is infectious. She has a gentle spirit and a kind heart. Her beautiful soul illuminates brightly. All can see her radiance. Her fragrance is a sweet, pleasing aroma. Her voice is a soothing lullaby."

-I'm going to *attempt* blogging during the summer. I will be on a creative ministries team with 4 of the most beautiful, talented, Christ-like women alive. I am so fortunate to have that sort of opportunity. So, hopefully, you'll get a little taste of what our experiences are like.

-Interfaith Easter Service is tonight. Our dress rehearsal on Sunday was very rough, and I'm hoping that things turn out better. My goal is that we would be totally reliant on the Holy Spirit when we get confused or frustrated or lost.

I think that's really all I have to say for now, and most of it is just thinking aloud, so I hope you're not bored to death. I did at least add songs to entertain you with.

Love,

Sarah

Hey Y'all

It has been a hot minute.
In case you're wondering where on earth I've been, I've been around.
Last semester was one big suckfest and four deaths in my family didn't help a bit.
But, God is good!
My roommate and I are still on great terms, and she is truly a reflection of Christ's grace and love; such a blessing to live with!
I've officially decided to be a music major, and it's going to be a ton of work, but I'm pretty pumped about it. And then, it's off to seminary! Yay! I'm going to try to get back to blogging more regularly, but it's kind of hard to be disciplined... I have 20 hours this semester, so if it's not a priority, it may not happen, but I'll be around :)

Love to all,

Sarah

First week back

Hello friends,

SO I just want to let you know that College is amazing and I seriously have never been so happy with my life.

I'm looking forward to seeing where God takes me in my faith this semester.

I've recently taken up this prayer challenge called 146. The idea is you pray for someone who hasn't accepted Jesus as his/her savior for six months. I'm SO pumped about it, so I actually have two. If you're willing to try it, and you'd like more details, please feel free to let me know!

Anyway, it's so great to be back at school. I have missed everyone and everything that is a part of this life that has become so much a part of my heart.

I'm looking forward to the majority of my classes this semester, excluding Math and Health/Wellness promotion.

I'm certainly looking forward to being in the large chorus, an experience I will surely enjoy greatly!

Thanks for reading, friends! I hope you all are having fantastic weeks!

Love Always,
Sarah

Still Breathing

Hello Loves,

I seriously doubt anyone will read this, considering it's my first post, and I really only have one friend who has urged me to create this account. However, if you're reading this, your support is greatly appreciated.

I've been on break for the better part of a month now, slowly going insane because my independence -granted to me at the start of college- has been ripped from my grasp and is being held hostage by the two people I love the most. They're great parents, really, they are. It's just annoying having to deal with petty things like curfew and doing everyone's laundry. Though I've greatly enjoyed the time with my friends, I can't wait to go back to school and settle back into my routine.

Other than that, I'd say I'm surviving. I'm looking forward to a fresh start in 2009.

Some things I've decided to not label as resolutions:
(Because the word resolution is poison; it forces you to be pessimistic.)
1.) My roommate, Caitlin, and I are "eating correctly" (joy), and starting a workout schedule.
2.) My thoughts and actions are going to be more compassionate.
3.) I'm going to cuss less, especially when driving.
4.) I'm going to be more considerate of others.

And finally...

5.) I'm going to try diligently to get along with my family.

Things I'm most looking forward to in the next week:

1.) Giving my roommates their Christmas gifts.
2.) Re-Organizing/Decorating my dorm room.
3.) Sleeping in on the weekends.
4.) Going to the Panthers playoff game with Caitlin.
5.) Valentine's day (Don't ask me why, because I don't know.)

Love Always,

Sarah
